Palmer was instrumental to the Blues' 4-3 win at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Early goals from Dominic Solanke and Dejan Kulusevski saw Spurs race into a two-goal lead, only for Ange Postecoglou's side to cave in. Jadon Sancho pulled one back before half-time, before a pair of Palmer penalties and a half-volley from Enzo Fernandez saw Chelsea come from behind, with Son Heung-min scoring an added-time consolation.

When asked what he thought of Panenka's penalty, Maresca replied: "The second penalty…he's cold!"
