According to a report by Calciomercato, West Ham United have ‘timidly tested the ground’ about potentially signing Juventus ace Aaron Ramsey this summer.
The Lowdown: Interesting summer ahead…
West Ham apparently only have eyes on three positions this summer; a new centre-back, striker and permanent deal for Jesse Lingard (Claret & Hugh) – but that hasn’t stopped links emerging to players in other positions.
There was even quite a saga recently involving Spartak Moscow midfielder Alex Kral, who plays in a similar position to Declan Rice, with West Ham even thought to have been in advanced talks at one point.
The Latest: West Ham weigh up move for Ramsey…
Now, Calciomercato say that the Irons have weighed up a potential swoop to sign Juve midfielder Ramsey – who is currently away with Wales at Euro 2020.

The €7 million-per-year (£6m-per-year) maestro is also said to be attracting interest from Crystal Palace – but both sides are slightly put off by his wages.
Roughly amounting to around €134,000-per-week (£115,000), both London clubs feel this salary is far too high – even ‘in the context of the rich Premier League’.
The Verdict: Avoid…
Starting just 13 league matches for the Old Lady over 2020/2021, he also missed a total of 61 days through injury (Transfermarkt).
The last thing West Ham need is another player with fitness issues commanding a fairly high wage demand, they’ve been down that road in the recent past with Jack Wilshere and it didn’t work out too well.
Manager David Moyes confirmed in a 2013 interview that he was ‘very close’ to signing Ramsey for Everton (FourFourTwo), but we believe he definitely shouldn’t try to sign him again eight years later.
