The Red Dragons released eight players at the end of last season, one where they secured promotion from League Two, and so far they have signed keeper Arthur Okonkwo, fellow stopper Callum Burton, and defensive midfielder George Dobson for the first-team. With the season less than a month away, more transfers are expected between now and then as they aim for a third-straight promotion.
WHAT LUKE MCNICHOLAS SAID
He told Rochdale's website: “During the summer I heard word of it and it instantly got me excited. The way the gaffer [Jimmy McNulty] wants to play I think will suit me down the ground. It’s a great opportunity for me to come and play. The club wants to go in the right direction and that was another pull for me. I feel like I’m comfortable on the ball and playing out from the back. I like to make big saves, come for crosses and dominate my box. I think my style of play will suit the team. I want to play as much as possible and get as many games as I can under my belt, and be successful here.”
WHAT NEXT?
While Wrexham work behind the scenes on transfer arrivals and departures, Phil Parkinson's men take on Bournemouth in their first pre-season fixture on Saturday as part of their North America tour, before locking horns with Chelsea and Vancouver Whitecaps on July 24 and July 27 respectively.
