United looked set to pick up all three points at Brentford, despite being second best for the majority of the match, when Mason Mount scored his first goal for the club in the 96th minute. Saturday's match was yet another disappointing performance from the Red Devils that leaves them with little chance of securing a top-four finish. United now sit 11 points behind Aston Villa and and eight adrift of Tottenham in fifth. The Red Devils enjoyed a thrilling 4-3 win over Liverpool last time out in the FA Cup but were perhaps fortunate to take anything away from Brentford, as the hosts dominated throughout and ended up having 31 shots on goal during the match.
WHAT ONANA SAID
Onana was clearly disappointed afterwards, telling the club's website: "I feel sad because we are Manchester United, so it doesn't matter who you play. Everywhere we go, we have to win. We gave away this game in the end. We did a fantastic job defending – it was not our best game – but the most important thing was to win. So, yeah, it's difficult."
