This weekend sees Crystal Palace host newly-promoted Wolves at Selhurst Park, with Roy Hodgson’s Eagles heading into the game in desperate need of a win.

The home side are without a win in their last three matches in all competitions and only have two Premier League victories under their belts so far this season.

Wolves, meanwhile, have made a brilliant start to life back in the top flight and currently find themselves in 9th place having already taken points away from both Manchester clubs. They’ll be arriving in South London on Saturday full of confidence and eager to register another Premier League win.

This one promises to be an entertaining clash at the very least as both sides have the quality to get amongst the goals and come away with all three points.

Whilst the Eagles’ defence has been relatively solid so far this season, the team struggle for goals and Wolves have the technical quality to find their way through their opponent’s dogged rearguard.

Both teams boast individuals with enough quality to prove the difference in this tie. That being said, neither side have manage more than two goals in a single league match so far this season. However, Wolves have found goals far easier to come by than their hosts and every week they look more and more comfortable in their new top flight surroundings. 

We think both teams will score on Saturday but that Wolves will ultimately emerge triumphant. That’s why we’ve gone for the 3 goals or more option here.

From a Crystal Palace perspective, Wilfried Zaha is the obvious choice here. 5P0RTZ are also offering a x2 points multiplier if the Palace talisman does find the back of the net. Both Palace and Wolves average above this figure, with 10.14 and 10.57 respectively being the average number of corners per game when either team is involved. Those figures suggest that we’ll see plenty of corners on Saturday.

Wilfried Zaha has been the most booked player for Palace so far this season having been shown yellow on three occasions already. Meanwhile, the home team’s Aaron Wan-Bissaka is the only player from either club to have yet seen red.

We don’t anticipate a particularly feisty affair here, and with Michael Oliver having been appointed to preside over proceedings it likely to be a relatively card-free encounter. The referee has only shown 10 yellows so far in this campaign at a rate of 1.67 per game. 

Inevitably, though, someone will find their way into the book and it’ll likely be a Palace player. The home side have already collected 13 bookings between them so far this season. We are predicting that James Tomkins will struggle with the movement and pace of the Wolves attack and get himself a yellow in the process.

Question 7 – In which minute will the first goal be scored in the match?

Neither team have been prone to conceding particularly early or late in games so far during this campaign, but we do expect this contest to see goals scored before the break. So, based on very little, we’re saying the deadlock will be broken in the 29th minute. Why not?
